Additional Configuration - ESET

Safelisting Secure Schools on ESET Cloud Office Security

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for configuring ESET Cloud Office Security (ECOS) to allow simulated phishing emails and training notifications from the Secure Schools platform to reach your users' inboxes, and was authored with the assistance of AI. (Sources)

Overview

ESET Cloud Office Security uses policy-based protection to scan emails for spam, phishing, and malware. To ensure your simulations function correctly and links are not blocked or flagged as "Phishing", you must add Secure Schools' IP addresses and domains to your Approved lists within the ECOS console.

Prerequisites

Ensure you have the information from our Domains and IP Addresses KB article, including the Sending IP Address, Infrastructure IP Address and Sending domains.

Configuration Steps

1. Create or Modify a Policy

Safelisting in ECOS is managed via policies assigned to your users or tenants.

  1. Log on to your ESET Cloud Office Security console.

  2. Navigate to Policies in the left-hand menu.

  3. Click New policy (or select an existing custom policy to edit).

  4. Enter a descriptive Name (e.g., "Secure Schools Phishing Safelist") and click Next.

  5. Under the Targets section, click Select to assign the policy to the relevant Tenants, Groups, or Users you wish to include in the simulation.

2. Configure Anti-Spam Approved Lists

The "Approved IP list" is the most effective method, as ECOS will not check the content of emails originating from these addresses.

  1. Click Settings within your policy.

  2. Expand Exchange Online Anti-Spam (or Gmail Anti-Spam if using Google Workspace).

  3. Locate the Approved IP list and click Edit.

  4. Click Add and enter the Secure Schools IP addresses:

    • 185.250.239.80 (Sending IP)

    • 35.190.80.1 (Infrastructure IP)

  5. Click Save changes.

  6. Locate the Approved senders list and click Edit.

  7. Click Add and enter the Secure Schools domains listed in the prerequisites (e.g., secureschools.com).

  8. Click Save changes.

3. Verify Protection Settings

Ensure that your Anti-Phishing settings do not conflict with your approved list.

  1. Expand Exchange Online Anti-Phishing (or Gmail equivalent).

  2. Ensure that emails from approved sources are not being subject to additional subject tagging or quarantine actions.

  3. Click Create policy (or Save changes) to apply the configuration.
